There is something especially satisfying about seeing a late-1990s bargain-bin PC get a second chance, and that was exactly what made this eMachine etower 433i resurrection so much fun. I had pulled this machine from e-waste, and at first glance it looked like the kind of computer most people would have written off immediately: a budget desktop from a brand that never had much prestige, covered in stickers and carrying all the visual baggage of an entry-level family PC from the Windows 98 era. But that was the appeal. These systems had once been everywhere, and even though they were built to hit a price point, they represented a huge part of real home computing history.
